At the invitation of Professor Li Guanghui, Director of the Environmental and Resource Innovation Center at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Dominic C. Y. Foo, academician of the Malaysian Academy of Sciences and head of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, visited our university on June 14th to conduct academic exchange activities.
Professor Dominic Foo gave a lecture on Process Integration for Resource Conservation and CO2 Reduction to our school's faculty and students in Conference Room 5323 of the Training Building. Professor Foo mainly introduced that in the past few decades, researchers have proposed various Process System Engineering (PSE) tools to solve problems in heat exchange network design, energy and material recovery, and carbon dioxide reduction in industrial production. Professor Lu Jiaqi from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering shared the research progress made by our university in the field of carbon neutral system engineering in recent years. Master's students in Chemical Engineering and Technology, Huang Shuying, Liu Xiaohua, and Han Mengqi, respectively reported their research topics. Professor Foo and the teachers and students present discussed the development and application of Process Systems Engineering (PSE) discipline in the context of carbon neutrality.
