On June 2nd, the environmental protection market of the June 5th Environment Day series of activities organized by the Songjiang District Ecological Environment Bureau was warmly opened at the Holiday Plaza in Thames Town. More than 30 environmental protection technology enterprises, social welfare organizations, universities, etc. in the district showcased their environmental protection products and shared green life wisdom at the market. Teacher Lu Jiaqi from the Environmental and Resource Innovation Center of our School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering led students to popularize knowledge about carbon footprint to visitors, showcase the research results of the school, and exchange and learn with various units.
During the event, teachers and students from the college imparted environmental knowledge to participants through interactive explanations, on-site demonstrations, and Q&A sessions. They showcased the latest digital carbon management platform and introduced concepts related to product carbon footprint, inspiring their enthusiasm and action for environmental protection. During the visit to the environmental protection market, government leaders stopped to watch the exhibition board of the digital carbon management platform and jointly discussed the application of carbon reduction technology and the popularization of environmental awareness. In addition, Teacher Lu Jiaqi also used the example of introducing the carbon footprint of bottled drinking water to popularize carbon footprint related knowledge to everyone. The introduction of carbon footprint related content not only enables participants to understand the carbon emissions impact of individuals and enterprises in daily life and production, but also strengthens everyone's understanding and importance of environmental protection actions.
This event aims to enhance the public's understanding of carbon footprint related knowledge, promote innovative development of environmental protection technology, and jointly contribute to the construction of a green and low-carbon society.
